BOOK REVIEW: "Ciudades de Papel" de John Green ll "Paper Towns" by John Green

Otro libro que va a mi librería. Y como os prometí, ahora toca mi opinión. No os quiero hacer muchos spoilers porque no mola nada, pero para dar mi opinión alguno va a caer.

Ésta es una novela juvenil de misterio y perfecta si os gustan las otras historias de John Green como Bajo la misma Estrella o Buscando a Alaska.

SINOPSIS:

"La novela narra la historia de Quentin "Q" Jacobsen, un adolescente que vive al lado de la preciosa Margo Roth Spiegelman. Ambos son muy amigos desde pequeños, pero con el paso de los años su relación se deterioró hasta el punto de convertirse en casi desconocidos cuando llegan al último curso del instituto. Cuando Margo y Quentin han perdido todo contacto, una noche Margo aparece en la ventana de Quentin, tal y como hacía cuando eran pequeños, para pedirle su coche. Al final, Quentin termina acompañando a Margo mientras ella intenta vengarse de su ex-novio.

A la mañana siguiente después de la aventura, Quentin va al instituto esperando encontrarse con ella, pero Margo no aparece. Al principio no le da importancia, pero al cabo de los días y tras la aparición de un detective, se da cuenta de que Margo ha desaparecido de nuevo. A partir de ese momento, Quentin, junto a sus dos mejores amigos y la mejor amiga de Margo, Lacey, tratan de encontrarla a toda costa siguiendo unas extrañas pistas que Margo ha ido dejando."

Me ha gustado muchísimo, tanto como la película (que había visto antes de leerme el libro). La película es del 2015 y está protagonizada por Natt Wolff (como Q) y Cara Delevingne (como Margo). Lo malo de que existan tanto el libro como la película es que tiendes a compararlos entre sí todo el rato, a ver si concuerdan y ya tienes una opinión formada. A veces no pasa nada, ya que ambas son muy similares (como en este caso) o tiendes a mosquearte porque la adaptación no se parece en nada con el original (como me pasó con sagas como Divergente o El Corredor del Laberinto). Pero tengo que decir que la adaptación es muy fiel al libro en general. Aunque, por ejemplo, (SPOILER ALERT) en el libro, la novia de Radar, Angela, no los acompaña en el viaje y en la película sí.
Mi personaje favorito, clarísimamente, es Margo. Es la chica rebelde que está harta de los convencionalismos y de hacer lo que por naturaleza y sociedad debe hacer, como ir a la universidad, casarse y tener hijos. Y decide hacer algo con ello. Aunque tengo que decir que en la película como que acabas odiándola un poco por no volver con Q, pero en el libro eso no pasa, porque te lo explican todo con detalle.
No tengo un momento preferido porque todos me han gustado, pero el que me gustó muchísimo fue cuando (SPOILER ALERT) Margo y Q, en el final del libro, deciden enterrar el diario de Margo y terminar la historia para siempre.

Lo recomiendo totalmente. Y también la película.

Another book that goes to my bookshelf. And as I promised, now it's time for my opinion. I don't want to give you many spoilers because it's not cool, but to give my opinion there'll be some of them.

This is a young adult mystery novel and perfect if you like other books from John Green, like The Fault in our Stars or Looking for Alaska.

PLOT:

"The novel narrates the story of Quentin" Q "Jacobsen, a teenager who lives next to the lovely Margo Roth Spiegelman. Both are friends from childhood, but over the years their relationship deteriorated to the point of becoming almost unknown when they reach the final year of high school. When Margo and Quentin have lost all contact, one night Margo appears in the window Quentin, as did when they were little, to ask his car. In the end, Quentin ends accompanying Margo as she tries to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend.


The next morning after the adventure, Quentin goes to school expecting to meet her, but Margo does not appear. At first he doesn't give it importance, but after days and after the appearance of a detective , he realizes that Margo has disappeared again. From that moment, Quentin, with his two best friends and Margo's best friend, Lacey, tries to find her at all costs following strange tracks that Margo has left. "

I liked it a lot, as much as the film (which I had watched before I read the book). The film is from 2015 and is starred by Natt Wolff (as Q) and Cara Delevingne (as Margo). The bad thing that there are both the book and the film is that you tend to compare them all the time, to see if they match and you already have an opinion. Sometimes nothing happens, since both are very similar (as in this case) or you tend to get annoyed because the adaptation has no resemblance to the original (as happened with sagas like Divergent or The Maze Runner). But I have to say that the adaptation is very faithful to the book in general. Although, for example, (SPOILER ALERT) in the book, Radar's girlfriend, Angela, doesn't go with them on the trip and in the film she does.
My favorite character, clearly, is Margo. She's the rebel girl who is tired of the conventions and do what nature and society must do, like go to college, get married and have children. And she decides to do something about it. Although I have to say that in the film you end up hating her a little for not going with Q, but in the book that does not happen, because they explain everything in detail.
I don't have a favorite moment because all of them were good, but I really liked when (SPOILER ALERT) Margo and Q, at the end of the book, decide to bury the Margo's diary and end the story forever.

I totally recommend it. So as the movie
